Return of a Painted Lady

I've posted one of these before.  Called a Painted Lady.  You can see not very big.

It would fly and then land and I could pick it up easily.  I was probably interrupting something important.

Peek-a-buck

So I was out yesterday morning with Russ.  At around 6:40am, I spotted something three houses up.  As I figured out what I was looking at, it was a coyote in my neighbor's backyard and after seeing me headed toward cover.

About an hour later, I was out at my back fence surveying all the trees my neighbor cut down in the woods (just felled the trees), I realized I was staring at a young buck maybe 30' away.  The light isn't good but here's what I snapped...

Making the rounds

These pictures are from September 3.  I didn't realize what I had...kind of dark.

Pearl crescent

This is a very small butterfly.  The color caught my eye but so did the size.

It's called a Pearl crescent.

From Wikipedia...

The pearl crescent (Phyciodes tharos) is a butterfly of North America. It is found in all parts of the United States except the west coast, and throughout Mexico and parts of southern Canada, in particular Ontario. The wingspan is from 21 to 34 mm.[1] The species has several broods throughout the year, from April–November in the north, and throughout the year in the deep south and Mexico.

I can always count on squirrels

I've had a dry spell with the trail camera.  So it's time for more squirrels which always make me laugh...
