Fawning over you

Here are trail camera pictures from two different days and camera locations.  The best I've captured so far for fawns...

Coyote in the grass

Hard to see but look for a coyote facing away and moving into the woods...(left side of the images)

Recent deer pictures

Mostly trail camera but some live.  I've been putting the camera on the NE corner of my fence in the backyard pointing along the wood's edge.  My hope has been to get a coyote coming or maybe a fawn.

Here is some of what I've seen...

Here are "live" photos minutes later...

Truly Wild Canaries

Ruth had been telling me she was getting American Goldfinch coming to her feeder on her window.  Today I witnessed the show.  At one point we had two males and a female.  Fun to see this close.  I know I'm including a lot of pictures here but I like them all.  Notice the feathers ruffling on the female in one of the photos...

It's lily time

The lilies are looking good this year (from around the neighborhood)...

Squirrel watching

I carry my camera on my morning walk with Russ.  You never know what you might see but you can be sure there are Fox Squirrels on alert with a threat like Russell.

Here is a sampling of what I've seen in the last week...

We have new neighbors

We actually have three new neighbors but the ones next door to the south are bird and nature enthusiasts.  We went from three dogs barking to feeders and a bird bath in the yard.

I joked that I will be taking advantage of their feeder by taking some pictures.  They are a nice couple and it's nice to have neighbors that appreciate the environment we have.

So, here are some American Golfinch pics from lunch today...

I have zero cover so I will continue to try to sneak up closer and maybe not zoom in so much.

Happy Father's Day!

In keeping with the nature theme of this blog, here are pictures of my dad from 1952.  He was not yet a father but would turn out to be a great one.  He is missed and loved.

Ledges State Park was always a favorite spot for our family...

Bird watching

Hard to believe I haven't posted since May 26.  Hasn't been much to see.  I've been trying different trail cam locations. I'm trying to stay out of the woods...ticks are bad this year.

Over Memorial Day weekend, I took a walk on the bike trail with my nephew Jon.  We saw a Rose-breasted Grosbeak which I have seen since I was young. And the other morning, I'm 90% sure I saw an Indigo Bunting on the edge of the woods.

This morning, I saw this bird moving from tree to tree along our street and from the outline determined I was seeing a Cedar Waxwing.  Again, I don't recall seeing one since my childhood.

Here's what I captured (light not great)...
