Shelter me

It's been a rainy dreary stretch lately.  I was out late this afternoon in the light rain looking for any sign of activity in the woods.  I happened to see a bird clinging to a tree. Not really unusual but usually birds are moving looking for food.  This one was just clinging and it struck me that it was on a side where it could be out of the rain.

I was convinced I was looking at a Red-bellied Woodpecker based on size and wing colorings but I was straining to see color on the head.  It dawned on me later that this is actually a Northern Flicker.  Not great photos but it shows what some birds do when it's raining...they stay dry any way they can.
