I was out with Russ the other night as it was getting dark. I could hear the birds chattering in the woods. I figured a cat was in the woods and went up the hill to look. I turned back toward the houses and saw the silhouette of a Great Horned Owl! It would be cool enough to see an owl perched like that but the lighting made it appear like the Grim Reaper :)
You see restaurants use fake owls to scare away birds...what could scare an owl away? Apparently not Robins. They were on the roof chattering away and one would swoop toward the owl but it could have cared less. Here are a few shots. The second picture I used the flash and you can see an eye which adds to the spooky factor.
