Welcome to Sawyers Landing. My goal is to share things I see from our backyard and neighboring woods and trails.

Top floor
This post has nothing to do with my neighborhood or wildlife but I thought worth sharing.
These pictures are from the Des Moines Embassy Club on the 34th floor of the Ruan Center. We were there for a celebration of life for Cindy's friend of 54 years. I didn't think I'd ever be up there again.
The view is impressive. I first wanted to get a picture looking toward the Brown-Camp Lofts because I like to collect images of that building due to the connection to our family. But we were there for awhile and I grabbed a few more looking other directions.

Let the trail camera do the work
I came home at lunch the other day and it was sunny so I put the feeder and trail camera out.
Here's a sampling of what I got (no squirrels)...

Squirrel(s) Gone Wild!
These are from yesterday. I saw a squirrel trying to approach the feeder over lunch and sure enough while I was gone it made it on there. This is a squirrel-proof feeder which as you can see works...the cage shuts over the feeder openings. I got 34 pictures from this attempt and tried to whittle that number down but I'm going to post them all to show you the effort involved. I love the first two pictures and then the last one...you know its jumping or falling off. Also neat to look at the feet and toes holding on for dear life.
