A Red-bellied Woodpecker "bellies" up to the feeding area

I'm trying to use up some old seed and had my feeder out this weekend.  I noticed a Red-bellied Woodpecker feeding on the ground so I set my trail camera on the ground this afternoon.  There was some sun today but you can see I was losing it.



Thanksgiving 2016

We were 12 strong on Thanksgiving.  It was a good day.  Not nice enough to hike in the woods but maybe next year...

 

Finally a Red Fox

Using the trail camera at night I will admit I look for bucks and coyotes but I'm always holding out for a Red Fox.  My only fox pictures have been during the day.  Well early Saturday morning I captured these images.  Is it me or does it look like the fox is "marking its territory" in the 2nd picture?

Eight years of Rusty yesterday

While we always remember yesterday as the day we lost Bentley, the dog that was simply supposed to be our "next" dog (or replacement dog), quickly won our hearts and showed his own personality.  And the amazing part of the story is that he came to us...we weren't even looking for him.
