A little rain today so here is what I got before I took everything down (feeder activity)

Here are pictures I took of White-breasted Nuthatches on the feeder.  Must be the time of year but things were hopping every time I looked out.  If you look close, peanuts seem to be a favorite.  And in one of the pictures you can see a blurry image of one taking flight...

 

 

 

And here is what the trailcam picked up on the ground.  Happy to see a male and female Northern Cardinal today...

How can a dog go from looking so distinguished to looking like he doesn't know which way his body will go?  He's definitely flexible (look at direction of back legs)...

Sunny days are always the best for feeder pictures

Yesterday, I was fortunate to get a few pictures with my camera and I also had the trailcam pointed the feeder.

Here are the results (first taken my camera standing at the back fence)...



Normally a ground feeder, this Dark-eyed Junco enjoyed some alone time on the feeder.

"Hello there"

I saw this fox squirrel this morning while walking Russ.  It ducked into this tree but squirrels are very curious so of course it turned around to watch us.

Wily coyote

"Our" coyote was back last night at 9:41pm.  I mention the time because I let Russ out for the last time around 10pm.

Look at the sequence of these photos and it appears something scared it off the path it was taking.  Probably one of our neighbor's dogs (there are two dogs a few houses up that have Invisible Fencing).  Steve thought this was a nice looking coyote.
