Hawk "Eye"

I'm that guy that carries his camera with him while driving around and pulls over if he sees something. Today it was this Red-tailed Hawk.  It was facing away from the street in a church parking lot.  It was late in the day so I wanted to get the sun on it for a better picture and of course that was not the way it was facing.  So I leaned out of my car and started whistling and saying "hey"...and this is the look I got...

Just Another Day in the Neighborhood...

I was looking out the back window late yesterday afternoon and saw these two White-tail bucks going at it.  There were some does over a bit while this was going on.  Russ was safely in the other room so I quickly grabbed the camera and started shooting.  It's pretty wild to see in person especially in our back yard...

Early returns from the feeder

We've had some sunny days when I've been home so it was time to put the feeder out finally.  We got snow today which could drive more activity once I put it back out but these are from the last week or so.  It was pretty quiet.  I saw Black-capped Chickadees but mostly my reliable White-breasted Nuthatches who don't mind me behind the tree 10 feet away...
